Mayo Credit Unions Celebrate Athletic Talent

The Young Mayo Sports Star Awards hosted by The Connaught Telegraph at Breaffy House Resort, was a night of celebration recognising the county’s finest sporting talents under the age of 23. The prestigious event brought together young athletes from a diverse range of disciplines, including running, golf, swimming, rugby, cheerleading, rowing and inline hockey to name but a few.
A total of 26 individuals, groups and teams from across Mayo were honoured for their dedication and achievement in their respective sports. Their commitment skills and passion have not only earned them personal success but have also brought pride to their local communities.
Ballina Credit Union was delighted to be part of this inspiring occasion joining forces with the other Credit Unions based in Mayo under the umbrella term Mayo Credit Unions which includes First Choice Credit Union, St Colemans Credit Union and Westport Credit Union which aims to support and promote such important community initiatives.
The award night was a testament to Mayo’s thriving sporting culture and the bright future of its young athletes. With such talent emerging form the county, the next generation of Mayo sports star is set to shine on both the national and international stages.
