Ballina Credit Union seeks new volunteers
21 Apr, 2022

New volunteers can help Ballina Credit Union to further expand

With assets of almost €100m and a surplus of €480,000 in 2021, Ballina Credit Union is one of the largest standalone credit unions in the west of Ireland, boasting ambitious plans for the future.

But its success as a financial cooperative, which is owned by the members, is very much dependent on the work of unpaid volunteers.

Ballina Credit Union is now seeking to recruit new volunteers to help meet its strategic objectives over the coming years. These will be people with some experience in the areas of finance, business management, law, information technology, marketing, corporate governance, insurance, accounting or with any other skill that might benefit the organisation.

A new volunteer will join one of the credit union’s many committees, where she or he will be able to make a contribution to the running of this very successful credit union and work on development and business projects.

In addition, volunteers will be provided with free training to enhance their current knowledge and acquire new skills that will contribute to the future progress of Ballina Credit Union. Being a volunteer with Ballina Credit Union provides personal development opportunities alongside giving something back to the community.

Over time, volunteers can also move into a role on the Board of Directors or Board Oversight Committee.

Ballina Credit Union would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in getting further information. Just email david.dwane@ballinacu.ie with relevant details.
