A significant advantage of being a member of Ballina Credit Union is the complimentary insurance provided for eligible savings and loans. Members are entitled to Loan Protection benefits. This insurance will pay off the remaining loan balance at no expense to the borrower in the event of their passing.

Under the Credit Reporting Act 2013, credit unions and all other lenders must provide information to the Central Credit Register on all loan application and loan agreements of €500 and above. The information will be held on the Central Credit Register and may be used by other lenders when making decisions on any loan applications to them.
